Injibara University has started testing the corona virus (COVID 19) by organizing a laboratory center within the campus, since May 28,2020.
When the testing center officially started working, Mr. Baynesagn Zerihun, administrator of Awi Administrative zone, Prof. Berhanu Belay, president of the university, and other officials attended the ceremony.
Mr. Addisu Gashanet, the chief of the laboratory center and the head of the health office in Awi Administrative zone thanked everybody who participated to put the laboratory center into effect. He also stated that they are trying to improve the diagnosis capacity in parallel with the beginning of the service.
The diagnosis capacity of the center is about 400 cases per day if it works in its full capacity.
