Institute of Agaw Studies has been launched in 2021 by Injibara University. The Institute aims to promote and study the culture, language, history, heritage, art, theater, literature, and music of the Awi people. It has the following duties and responsibilities: archiving tangible and intangible heritage; creating a partnership and cooperation with national and international institutions; organizing forums, symposiums, public lectures, and workshops; and publishing articles and books on topical issues pertaining to the Awi people.
