Injibara University Celebrates Sixth Round Graduation Ceremony with Over 4,400 Graduates.

Injibara University marked a significant milestone as it held its sixth graduation ceremony, awarding degrees to 4,471 students across 48 academic programs in both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The ceremony, held with vibrant cultural and academic flair, took place on Saturday, June 21, 2025 on the university’s main campus.

Presiding over the event, University President Dr. Gardachew Worku congratulated the graduating class and acknowledged their hard work and resilience. He noted that 1,654 of the graduates were women, and that this round included both regular and extension students.

Dr. Gardachew also shared that Injibara University has now graduated over 9,000 students since its inception, emphasizing its expanding role in contributing to national development. He added that 92% of this year’s graduates passed the national exit exam, demonstrating the university’s growing academic quality.

This year’s graduation was particularly historic, as the College of Health and Medical Sciences presented its first cohort of graduates—highlighting the university’s growing academic portfolio.

Guest of honor Dr. Mulunesh Dessie, Coordinator of the Social Cluster and Head of the Education Bureau at the Office of the Vice President for Administration, as well as a Political Science lecturer at Bahir Dar University, praised the graduates as the “Today’s students are tomorrow’s nation.” She encouraged them to address societal challenges through evidence-based and ethical approaches, urging them to serve their country with dedication, creativity, and integrity.

Graduating students also expressed their commitment to tackling real-world challenges, emphasizing the importance of professionalism, collaboration, and national responsibility in their future endeavors.

Top-performing students were honored with certificates, medals, and trophies for academic excellence. Mulubirhan LijEshit, from the Department of Political Science and International Relations, received the university’s highest honor after graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA.

The ceremony was attended by key university officials, including Dr. Mulunesh Dessie, Head of the Social Cluster and Academic Affairs Directorate, Mr. Tewodros Endale, Chief Administrator of the Awi zone, Senior leaders from the Awi Zone and Amhara Regional State, elders, religious leaders, and invited guests also took part in the celebration, marking a proud day for the university and the local community.
