Injibara University Held a Discussion on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Implementation

Injibara University held a discussion on the implementation process of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) within the academic sphere. The discussion centered on the performance evaluation of academic institutions, examining existing strengths, identifying challenges, and outlining areas for improvement.

Dr. Gardachew Worku, President of Injibara University, led the discussion, which encompassed critical aspects such as KPI implementation strategies, preparations for forthcoming exit examinations, and the integration of research and community engagement initiatives.

A key area of emphasis was the University’s commitment to ensuring student success on exit examinations. Injibara University is currently preparing graduate students across 48 programs, including those within the College of Health and Medical Sciences, for these examinations. The University aims to achieve a pass rate exceeding 90% through the implementation of comprehensive preparatory measures, including targeted reinforcement courses and simulated examinations. All colleges are expected to actively support students in these preparations.

The evaluation of KPIs and the University’s core activities was presented under the coordination of strategic affairs executives, led by Mr. Lingeraw Atinkut. The presentation addressed key topics such as the audit and accreditation of academic programs, the promotion of digital literacy, the maintenance of laboratory standards, the facilitation of research collaborations, and the enhancement of female researchers’ participation.

Vice Presidents, Deans, and Directors presented performance assessments from their respective units, noting both successes and areas requiring attention. Notable achievements were reported in the areas of exit exam preparation, digital literacy initiatives, e-learning implementation, and faculty research involvement. However, challenges such as budgetary limitations, security concerns, and logistical difficulties impacting research execution were also identified.

Moving forward, Injibara University will prioritize the effective monitoring of student progress in exit exam preparation and overall academic performance. Furthermore, the University will focus on enhancing research standards and fostering strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.

The discussion was attended by senior university administrators, deans, and directors. President Dr. Gardachew Worku addressed concerns raised during the discussion and provided clarifying guidance.
