Injibara University’s Globalization Reaches New Heights

Injibara University President Dr. Gardachew Worku and Vice President for Research and Community Service Dr. Kinde Berhan are currently on a working visit to Soka University in Japan. The purpose of this visit is to strengthen the relationship between the two institutions.

During their visit, the President and Vice President are participating in a symposium to assess the status of the SATREPS-EARTH project, which is being implemented by Soka University in collaboration with Bahir Dar and Injibara Universities. They will also provide recommendations for future directions of the project.

With support from the SATREPS-EARTH project, four teachers from Injibara University have successfully completed their PhD studies and returned home. Additionally, Soka University has provided both permanent and temporary equipment to help establish a modern laboratory, as noted by Dr. Gardachew Worku.

The President of Soka University, Prof. Suzuki Mika, along with the head of the SATREPS-EARTH project, Prof. Sato Shinjiro, and leading researchers from various sectors of the project, presented their research initiatives and discussed the organization of research laboratories at Soka University. They also shared insights about the overall experience at Soka University with the visiting presidents.

At the conclusion of the program, traditional Agew costumes and horse hair or Chira were presented to Soka University officials. Dr. Gardachew Worku emphasized that fruitful discussions took place between researchers from Injibara University and Soka University, paving the way for future collaborative efforts.
