Life Long Learning and Community Development

Department of Adult Education and Community Development/ Lifelong Learning and Community Development opened at Injibara University with a Senate decision held in July 2021 to meet the 2030 agenda of the UN to promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. Hence, Education and development courses are well-compiled in the curriculum and it help to create competent, all-rounded, and functional experts.

Vission statement

  • To be one of the first three best and outstanding departments in all academic calivers in Ethiopia by 2034.

Mission statement

  • To produce lifelong learning and community development professionals and community development experts, leaders, and researchers who can address community demands and challenges through critical analysis of community institutions and the local environment.

Academic Programs

The Departemt of Lifelong Learning and Community Development has different programs aimed at equipping experts with theoretical and practical knowledge of adult education, lifelong learning, and community development and to tackle the existing education and development challenges of the country.

 Undergraduate Program

Other programs are not opened at Injibara University in lifelong learning and community development and only the BA degree program is launched. BA degree in Lifelong Learning and Community Development equips students to know the theoretical and practical issues of adult education, and community development and enables them to be competent lifelong learning and community development professionals, community development experts, leaders, and researchers.

Human resource

Even though the hired teachers of the department are few, currently, the department has three teachers two lecturers, and one assistant professor.
