Strengthening Global Ties in Tourism Education: Injibara University Partners with Kenya Utalii College

Injibara University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kenya Utalii College, focusing on advancing tourism and hospitality education and research. This strategic partnership, led by the College of Business and Economics and its Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, aims to develop joint academic programs, collaborative research initiatives, and exchange opportunities for students and faculty.

The MoU reflects Injibara University’s commitment to fostering strong local and global partnerships, enhancing educational quality, research capabilities, and community engagement. The collaboration is expected to significantly impact the tourism sector, with the College of Business and Economics overseeing its implementation alongside the esteemed Utalii College, recognized for its excellence in hospitality training in Kenya.

The signing ceremony took place on September 3, 2025, attended by Dr. Yilkal Andualem, Dean of the College of Business and Economics, faculty members, and notable guests including Mr. Mark Ogendi, CEO, and Dr. Lilian Gikutha, Director of Strategy, Partnerships, and Enterprise. This partnership is set to enrich the educational landscape and support international tourism development initiatives.
